GUJRANWALA, June 17: The local chamber of commerce and industry and other segments of society have criticized the proposed collection of TV licence fee worth Rs25 per month through electricity bills.
Speaking at a meeting held here on Thursday, presided over by chamber's president Shaukat Javed, the participants were of the view that the process to this effect would be complicated as the PTV and the Wapda were fixing responsibility on each other to exempt those consumers who had no TV sets.
They said many domestic consumers had installed two power meters to avoid inflated bills but the federal finance minister had not dilated upon that aspect of the budgetary proposal.
They said no doubt the government had given maximum facilities to industrialists and traders to boost the national economy but it should have provided relief to common man.
