DADU, June 20: Awami Tehrik leader Rasool Bux Palejo has said that the federal and Sindh governments have failed to maintain law and order in Karachi.

Talking to journalists here on Saturday, he said that the murders of People's Party Parliamentarians leaders Munawwar Suharwardy and MPA Abdullah Murad were target killings.

Mr Palejo alleged that owing to interference of the federal government, the Sindh government had been handed over to what he called terrorists. He accused the Muttahida Qaumi Movement of forcing people at gunpoint to vote for its candidates in elections.

He demanded removal of Sindh Governor Dr Isharatual Ibad. Mr Palijo said that the case of construction of dams should be decided by the international court. He severely criticized statements made by Senator Nisar Memon on issue of dams and said that Sindh would receive no water if dams were constructed.

PROTEST: A large number of people, including growers and political parties' activists, held a protest demonstration in Khairpur Nathan Shah on Saturday against shortage of water in 10 waterways originating from the Rice Canal. Growers also held a demonstration in Thrari Mohabbat to protest against water shortage.
