THATTA, June 22: PPP activists took out a big procession here on Tuesday to protest against the killing of Munawwar Suhrawardy and delay in apprehending the culprits involved in the incident.

Led by party's district president, Syed Masood Mustafa Shah, and district general secretary Jalil Memon, the PPP activists began their march from the fish market and gathered in front of the Thatta Press Club on National Highway where they staged an hour-long sit-in.

Vehicular traffic remained suspended on the National Highway because of the sit-in, causing severe hardships to the passengers. Speaking at the gathering, the PPP leaders said the blood of Munawwar Suhrawardy and Abdullah Murad would not go waste.

They would always be remembered for the sacrifices they rendered for democracy and prosperous future of the poor. They said the legacy and philosophy of the late Zulfikar Ali Bhutto would ultimately win the hearts of general masses.

The speakers demanded immediate arrest of the killers of Munawwar Suhrawardy and Abdullah Murad. Those who spoke on the occasion included Syed Masood Shah, Jalil Memon, Imtiaz Qureshi, Iqbal Shah, Babu Ghulam Hussain, Dr Wahid Soomro and others.
