HYDERABAD, June 23: The sixth additional district judge on Wednesday ordered the Market police investigation officer to furnish the inquiry report on the basis of which police booked officials in contaminated water case.

The case was registered against irrigation and Hyderabad Development Authority officials and the former EDO, health, after supply of contaminated water of the River Indus to people, which led to deaths of several people.

The order was passed during hearing of pre-arrest bail applications of former Sukkur Barrage chief engineer Ghulam Nabi Mughal, former HDA director-general Ali Ahmad Lund and former EDO Agha Tariq.

KARO-KARI CASE: Justice Azizullah Memon of the Sindh High Court, Hyderabad circuit, on Wednesday rejected a pre-arrest bail application of an accused in a karo-kari case.

The case pertained to the killing of couple Shazia Khaskheli and Mohammad Hassan Solangi, whose bodies were found by police on Oct 8, 2003, near the Gullu Wassan village, Sanghar.

The FIR against the accused, Allah Bux, a relative of the girl, had been registered at the Sanghar police station after the apex court took a suo motu notice of the matter and ordered an inquiry.

A charge-sheet against the accused had been submitted in the court and the judge had issued non-bailable warrants him. Bux had filed a bail-before arrest application before the sessions judge of Sanghar but police foiled his attempt to reach the court, which dismissed the plea.

Mir Hassan, the girl's father, had lodged a report with the Sanghar police on Oct 5, 2003, saying his daughter had been abducted by Solangi. Later, police had found the bodies of the couple.
