ISLAMABAD, June 24: The Pakistan Muslim League-N has termed recent bomb blasts in Gwadar, destruction of power line tower in Dadu and missile attack on a military camp in Razmak, North Waziristan, a result of "incompetence" and "anti-people" policies of the government.

The PML-N secretary-general, Saranjam Zamindar, in a statement here on Thursday, said the government would blame the unidentified terrorists for these incidents, but the fact could not be ignored that local population in these areas had been unhappy with the government measures.

He said the people of Gwadar had been complaining for a long time that their rights and interests were not being looked after in the construction of port and allotment of lands for housing colonies.

He said it was also known all over the country that gangs of robbers had been operating in Dadu district, sometimes with police backing, and the Sindh government had been avoiding serious crackdown against them for political reasons.

Saranjam Khan said it was evident from the beginning that the military operation in tribal areas in the name of war against Al Qaeda would lead to reprisals from resentful tribes.

He said patriotic political parties, including the PML-N, had repeatedly warned the government that the operation against loyal tribesmen to please the US would lead to despair and lack of confidence.

He said the government should waste no more time in ending economic blockade of the tribal areas, and desist from bulldozing the residences of innocent citizens.
