LARKANA, July 4: The Deputy High Commissioner of Bangladesh, Mohammad Abdul Hanan, has said rice and other products of Larkana can be exported directly to Bangladesh.
Speaking at a reception here on Sunday, he invited businessmen of the district to visit Bangladesh.
He said export and import activities between the two countries would strengthen their trade relations. Mr Hanan said no restrictions would be imposed on people who wanted to visit his country and added that technical officers, including engineers, and other groups would be welcome to visit Dhaka and study the working of different departments.
He said Pakistan could import products, such as tea, tooth pastes and medicines, from Bangladesh which were exported to other countries, including Nepal, Bhutan, India, Britain and China.
The diplomat also met office-bearers of the chambers of commerce and industries of Karachi, Quetta, Sukkur and Larkana. Earlier at a meeting with office-bearers of Larkana Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Saturday, Mr. Hanan said that the trade relations between Bangladesh and Pakistan would strengthen with the passage of time.
He said that the two countries would develop economic conditions keeping high their national interests. He said that the purpose of his visit to the interior Sindh was to inform trade communities about the chances of exporting local products to Bangladesh.
He said the trade activities between two countries would also strengthen bilateral relations. He also attended a lunch hosted by the LCCI which was attended among others by MPA Ayaz Soomro, Principal Chandka Medical College Prof Noor Ahmed Channa and others. He also visited Moenjodaro.
FIR: the Waleed police on Saturday registered a case against Hesco DSO Shabir Solangi on the complaint of Akhtiar Ali. It was stated in the FIR that around 10 buffaloes were electrocuted on Saturday due to his negligence. Others officials nominated in the FIR include Majeed Sangi and Ali Dino Khuhro.
