KASUR, July 21: Saddar police on Wednesday registered a case against Wapda XEN, SDO and four other officials on the orders of civil judge Hina Muzaffar for allegedly abusing a consumer at his house.

In an application to the civil judge, Saleem Haider of Todeypur village complained that XEN Abdul Razzaq, SDO Rasheed Iqbal and four other Wapda officials forcibly entered his house and tried to sever his power supply without any reason.

On questioning, he said, the officials abused him and also misbehaved with the women. However, he said, some of his neighbours gathered there and the officials returned threatening him with dire consequences. The court ordered Saddar police to register a case against the officials.

KILLED: A woman was run over and killed by a train here on Wednesday at Raja Jang Crossing. Reports said Shabnam Bibi, wife of Rizwan, along with her child Nawaz, 7, was crossing the track when the train hit the woman, resulting into her death. Her child luckily remained unhurt.

INJURED: Sixteen people sustained injuries when a bus carrying a marriage party struck against a truck here on Wednesday at Halla By-pass, Pattoki. Police said the bus (LRD-6761) was going from Lahore to Okara. Near the by-pass, it collided with the truck (LPT-953) as a result, 16 people, including six women and two children sustained injuries.

The injured were identified as Sultana Bibi, Sharifan Bibi, Razia Sultana, Zakia Bibi, Bilqees Bibi, Sardaran Bibi, Zubair, Tanveer, Amin, Asad Ali, Ghulam Rasool, Mustafa, Idris, Ramzan, Khadim Hussain and Muhammad Rashid. Sadar Pattoki police have registered a case against the absconding truck driver.
