SWABI, July 27: A two-month-old dispute over drinking water between Ghani Chattra and Shinkrai villages of the Gadoon belt took an ugly turn after a jirga of Shinkrai decided on Tuesday to use force for releasing water to the village.
The jirga discussed the situation caused by disconnection of water supply and damage done to the pipeline. The dispute had erupted when the people of Ghani Chattra village cut off the water supply pipeline after a clash among youngsters during a cricket match.
The jirga members and residents repeatedly appealed to the people of Ghani Chattra to allow repair of the pipeline and release water, but without any success.
