KHAIRPUR, July 28: About 35 people of two rival groups - Maitlo and Kandhro - were arrested from different places in Kingri taluka on Tuesday. The names of arrested persons could not be ascertained.
In this connection, two separate FIRs of four murders were lodged with the Ahmedpur police. Complainant Siddique Maitlo, son of deceased Abdul Hussain, lodged an FIR against 35 persons of the rival group.
They include Sarwar Kandhero, Illahi Bux, Achar, Asghar, Khabar, Haji Khan, Panah, Azizullah, Bahram, Fareed, Dalo, Dildar, Wali Mohammad, Niaz, Nebaho, Dino and others. Complainant Darya Khan Kandhero, the brother of two victims of the clash, lodged an FIR against 18 persons of the rival group.
They include union council Ahmedpur Nazim Moharram Maitlo, his two sons, Ghulam Mohammad and Mashooq, Sarfaraz, Abdul Qadeer, Abdul Qadir, Mohammad Bux, Master Abdul Majeed, Nawab, Bhai Khan, Haji alias Amanullah, Nazeer Maitlo, Jan Mohammad and others.
Meanwhile, Sindh Chief Minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Raheem has taken a serious notice of clashes between Solangi-Jagirani and Kandhero-Maitlo groups which claimed 13 lives.
The chief minister was scheduled to visit Kingri taluka on Tuesday evening to meet with the heads of rival groups but due to some unavoidable circumstance, he deferred the plan.
However, Mr Arbab met with the in-charge DPO Khairpur, district nazim, taluka nazim Kingri and the chairman of the resolution committee of the shrine of Pir Pagaro in Sukkur on Tuesday night.
Sardar Mir Sundar Khan Sundrani and Sardar Khuda Bux Khan Jagirani also attended the meeting. District Nazim Khairpur Nafisa Shah and RPO Sukkur police briefed the chief minister about the nature of clashs.
