NAWABSHAH, Aug 4: District Nazim Faryal Talpur has directed police officials to improve law and order situation so that people can live without any fear.

Speaking at a meeting called to review the police plan 2004-5 on here Wednesday, she said a Madadgar-15 centre would be established in Qazi Ahmed town for which funds would be provided by the district government.

She said drug rehabilitation centres would also be established in the district with the cooperation of NGOs. The nazim directed DCO Saifullah Dharejo to hold a meeting with transporters to motivate them to shift bus stands out of the city.

DPO Sarwar Jamali submitted the police plan 2004-5 in the meeting. He said the crime ratio had decreased as compared to the last year's and all 22 police stations, including those of kutcha area, were functioning well.

He said traffic signals would be installed in the city to reduce traffic problems. The chairman of the District Public Safety Commission, Jam Feroze Unnar, said transfers of SHOs and the lower staff on political basis should be stopped.

He said patrolling on the main roads be intensified so that villagers might be protected from outlaws. Meanwhile, speaking at a gathering in the union council Karam Ali Jamali after inaugurating a dispensary on Tuesday, the district nazim said, she was serving people without any discrimination.

She said the dispensary was constructed at a cost of Rs1.3 million. Ms Talpur announced construction of a road between Nawabshah and Sarhari, veterinary hospital and renovation of other link roads.
