SUKKUR: Three girls kidnapped

SUKKUR, Aug 5: Two sister and their cousin were kidnapped by armed men in the Hadal Shah village, Kingri taluka, in Khairpur on Tuesday evening. Santran, 16, Sani, 18, both daughters of Munshi, and their cousin, Reshman, were going to their home after working in a date orchard when the armed men took them away.

PROTEST ENDED: Sanitary workers of the Sukkur Taluka Council, on intervention of MNA Khursheed Afghan, on Tuesday night ended their protest against manhandling of three workers.

The MNA asked police to arrest the people who manhandled the workers and register an FIR against them. The B-section police arrested one of the accused, Abdul Karim.

Abdul Karim and his sons had allegedly injured the workers, Nawaz, Nazuk Ali and Murad Ali, who were taken to the Sukkur Civil Hospital. The accused had asked the workers to remove refuse in front of their house but they said they would do that after cleaning manholes.

RELEASED: Two persons, Amanullah and Ehsan, who had been kidnapped from Moji Pul in Thul two months back, reached home on Thursday. Sources said families of the hostages paid ransom to the kidnappers. However, police claimed that the hostages were released due to police pressure.
