SUKKUR, Aug 5: The Education System Reform Assistance has decided to establish school development centres and initiate school improvement programme in the district.

In this connection a meeting of the steering committee was convened by DCO Abdul Qadir Mangi on Thursday which approved the reopening of 26 closed schools in the district.

The meeting planned establishment of 26 school development centres to organize exhibitions to apprise villagers and community the importance of education. These centres will also prove helpful in close interaction between government functionaries and school management committees at the union council level.

Similarly, the purpose of school improvement programme was to provided uniform standard of education and quality improvement to neglected schools in the district. Under the plan, teachers within existing strength would be redeployed in 35 closed schools in Salehpat, Rohri and Pano Akil talukas by offering them handsome incentives.

The EDO education explained aims and objects of the two projects. The DCO incorporated some suitable suggestions to make the plan more effective and sustainable.
