JHANG: Eight-hour robbery in Jhang

JHANG, Aug 5: Eleven dacoits made off with everything available in the house of an assistant professor of the Jhang government college here on Wednesday night at Lalazar Colony, Satellite Town.

Reports said an unidentified person rang the door bell of Ashraf Khan's house at 8:45pm, who upon being inquired said that he was a student and wanted to meet the professor.

On opening the door, 11 armed men forced their entry into the house and locked up the inmates in a room. After securing keys from them, they started collecting articles at one place.

After a short while, a son of the professor returned home and was held hostage by the bandits. The boy was followed by his three friends riding two motorbikes. They were locked up in the drawing room as well.

At about 10pm, two mechanics visited the house to repair the dish antenna, they were also added to the list of hostages. The dacoits stayed at the house till 5am early Thursday morning.

The valuables included electronic goods, jewellery, furniture, cash, clothes, shoes, books, mobile phones, carpets, and two motorcycles, of the friends of the professor's son.
