SUKKUR, Aug 13: Fifteen of the 17 detainees, who were recovered from three police stations by a raid commissioner on Tuesday were released by the district and session judge on Thursday.
It may be mentioned that Sartaj Khatoon, wife of Abdul Hakeem, filed an application in the district and session court, Sukkur, in which she stated that police had picked up 23 persons in a false case and detained them illegally in Pano Akil, Baiji Sharif and Raza Goth police stations.
The district and session judge, Sukkur, ordered the raid commissioner, Qazi Shah Nawaz, to recover illegal detainees. Mr Qazi conducted raids on Pano Akil, Baiji Sharif and Raza Goth police stations and recovered 17 detainees. They include Hadi Bux, Manthar, Sabzal, Salim, Abdul Hakeem, Shah Beg, Ghulam Fareed, Hanif, Zakir, Allah Dino, Ayaz, Abdul Mannan, Baboo and Saifullah.
The raid commissioner ordered police officials to appear before the court on Thursday with all detainees and record. After scrutiny of the record the district and session judge ordered to release 15 illegal detainees while Baboo and Saifullah were sent to jail.
EXAMS: The controller of the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Sukkur, on Thursday announced that examination forms from eligible candidates of the PTC and CT would be accepted at institutions concerned without the late fee upto Aug 20, with the late fee of Rs100 upto Aug 31.
The examination forms for oriental languages, annual examination 2004 have also been invited from eligible candidates through recognized oriental colleges upto Aug 18 and with the late fee of Rs100 upto Aug 26.
