GUJRANWALA, Aug 20: The Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) claimed to have achieved an excess recovery target of Rs4.54 billion than the fixed target of Rs4.12 billion.
This was stated by Gujranwala Telecom Region (GTR) general manager Muhammad Anwar while speaking at regional vigilance committee meeting here on Friday. He pointed out that centralized flat management system had been launched through 18 in Gujranwala, Sialkot and Gujrat to provide better facilities to subscribers.
He revealed that around 86,000 more new telephone connections had been provided to the subscribers than the target set by the PTCL. Mr Anwar gave out that the system had been upgraded to provide relief to subscribers under the relief package announced recently by the federal telecommunication minister. Telegraph director Ilyas Pretam and other senior officials also attended the meeting.
ANTI-POLIO DRIVE: The Health department will launch a three-day anti-polio campaign from Aug 23 in the district. District health officer Dr Saeedullah said here on Friday that about 732,270 children up to five years of age would be administered polio drops.
He said that at least 1,535 mobile teams had been constituted for this purpose while 40 fixed points were allotted to immunize the children.
