MURREE, Aug 22: Federal Minister for Education Zobaida Jalal has said Pakistan has been playing unprecedented role in the ongoing war against terrorism. She was talking to newsmen at a ceremony to reopen the Murree Christian School at Gharrial here on Sunday.
"Pakistan is facing two kinds of terrorism, one from Al Qaeda and the second from religious extremists. But the government is committed to ending terrorism in the country," she added.
She said terrorists who were arrested on Saturday had planned to kill high-ranking officials and ministers, "but in spite of all these threats we will never tolerate terrorism in the country."
Earlier, speaking at the ceremony, the minister said it was the responsibility of the government to provided security of life and property to missionary schools and institutions.
Former minister S.K.Tressler said terrorists had no religion and played with the life of innocent people and caused unrest in society. Chairman board of directors Dr Luke Cutherell, director Andrew J. Gordon and Saiman Malik also spoke.
