He told newsmen that action would be taken against the police if it was proved that Ghulam Ali had been tortured. The civil surgeon of the hospital told the minister that the patient was had been brought to the hospital by the police at mid-night.

He said X-ray and ultrasound were conducted and the medical certificate would be issued soon. The A-Section police alleged that Ghulam Ali Katohar was involved in a narcotic case and he attempted to commit suicide while in custody. It was because of the suicide attempt that he was admitted to the hospital.
