WASHINGTON, Sept 1: President Gen Pervez Musharraf will visit Washington on Sept 22 to inaugurate the Pakistan caucus, diplomats told Dawn on Tuesday.

Although the president is coming to the United States on a short trip and has a busy schedule in New York, he would come to Washington for three hours for the inauguration, sources said.

He would leave New York for Washington soon after his meeting with Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, sources said. The president is arriving in New York on Sept 20 and is expected to leave for home on the morning of Sept 23.

During his three-day stay in the US, he is also expected to meet President George W. Bush, Secretary of State Colin Powell and other senior officials of the US administration.
