LARKANA, Sept 7: District officials and management of the Mazarani gas field of the Pakistan Petroleum Limited held a meeting in Kamber here on Tuesday on matters relating to provision of amenities to local people.

Speaking at the meeting, presided over by DCO Abdul Razaq Qureshi, Kamber Taluka Nazim Sardar Khan Chandio regretted that the PPL was not providing facilities to local people. He pointed out that the Malaysian Gas Company provided drinking water facility to people in the remote area of Ghabi Dero. The EDO, service and works, called upon the company to repair the road from the flood protective bund to Ghabi Dero, destroyed by its tankers.

The meeting was told that the gas field management neglected local people in jobs. The DCO asked the manager of the gas field to provide local people with facilities in accordance with the law.

The meeting decided that the DCO, along with the district officer, roads, and the taluka nazim, would visit the damaged portion of the road so that its repair could be ensured.
