MARDAN, Sept 9: Manga Union Council Nazim Iqbal Khan Mohmand on Thursday asked the Central Board of Revenue chairman to take action against the income tax commissioner, Peshawar, for meddling in the council's affairs.

Speaking at a news conference, Mr Mohmand alleged that the commissioner had recently gathered some councillors at his residence to create misunderstanding between them and him.

He said the income tax official was creating a law and order situation in the area and the CBR chairman should look into the matter. He alleged that the official was wanted by the National Accountability Bureau.

The income tax commissioner, on being contacted, denied that he had hosted any gathering but said he had sympathies with the group, which was against the nazim.
