HYDERABAD: Boy run over by truck

HYDERABAD, Sept 20: A first-year student of a local school was run over and killed by a truck on the Auto Bhan road in the jurisdiction of A-section police station on Monday. Awais, son of Ayaz, a resident of Latifabad-12, was on his way to school when the truck hit him near the Mehran Arts council.

He died on the spot. The truck driver escaped after the accident. The students of the school took out a procession and burnt tyres outside the press club, demanding arrest of the driver.

NOTICE: Justice Sarmad Jalal Osmany issued notice on Monday to the deputy district officer (revenue) of Kotri to appear in the court on September 28 after counsel for a respondent contended that the taluka municipal officer could not remove encroachments. The matter related to contempt of court proceedings against the TMO and others.
