HARIPUR, Sept 21: No country can make progress in any field without education, says the provincial deputy parliamentary leader of the Pakistan Muslim League Faisal Zaman.

He said this while speaking to successful candidates of a technical course in the Government Vocational Institute Ghazi on Tuesday. Mr Zaman said that the promotion of modern education was the federal government's top priority adding that it was necessary to meet the future challenges.

Stressing the need for strengthening of technical training institutions, he said that it was vital for the production of a skilled workforce that could effectively contribute to the country's development and prosperity. The course was sponsored from zakat fund.

Director of the NWFP's technical education Iqbal Ahmed Khan, chairman of the district zakat committee, Haripur, Prof Mohammad Yaqoob Ali Zai, member of the district zakat committee Haji Bahadur Sher, district zakat officer Abdur Rauf, college's principal Mohammad Qurish were also present on the occasion. Faisal Zaman urged students not to indulge in politics and destructive activities. -APP
