KHAIRPUR, Sept 21: Two men were killed and two others, including a police constable, injured in the continuing violence involving the Solangi and Jagirani tribes in the Kingri taluka on Tuesday.
Some armed men intercepted a bus after opening fire at it on Pir Jo Goth-Khairpur road. They took away a labourer namely Din Mohammad Jagirani alias Kamil and shot him dead at a distance.
Meanwhile, in the firing at the bus, Ghulam Mustafa Solangi, resident of Kharai Machhi village, and police constable Ali Raza Maitlo were injured. Another group of armed men intercepted another bus, kidnapped a villager, Nazir Ahmed Solangi, killed him after a few hours and threw his body on the Pir Jo Goth-Khairpur road near Dangri Shakh.
The Jagirani tribesmen including women forcibly took away the body of Din Mohammad from the Civil Hospital Khairpur where it was brought for post-mortem. The body of Nazir was handed over to his relatives after its autopsy at the Rural Health Centre in Pir-jo-Goth.
Traffic remained suspended on Pir Jo Goth-Khairpur/Sukukr roads after the incidents. In the Kot Pul area, pamphlets were distributed, requesting people not belonging to the Solangi tribe to migrate from the villages of the tribe.
The Jagiranis have claimed that their two tribesmen namely Sarwar and Gehno had gone missing for three days. The tribal dispute, which has been caused by a petty matter, has earlier claimed lives of nine people from both sides.
