Indian hockey team due today

KARACHI, Sept 21: Indian new-look 21-member hockey team for Pakistan series is due to arrive on Wednesday. The IHF ignored Dhanraj Pillay, Baljit Singh Dhillon, Deepak Thakur and Gagan Ajit Singh , who all were part of the team at the Athens Olympics, after the four players made them selves unavailable for selection for different reasons.

India, who failed to qualify for this year's Champions Trophy, to be held in December in Lahore, after they finished seventh in the Athens Games, are to host the elite six-nation event next year.

INDIAN TEAM MEMBERS AND OFFICIALS:

Goalkeepers: Adrian D Souza, Devesh Chauhan, Bharat Chhetri.

Full Backs: Dilip Tirkey, Sandeep Singh, Harpal Singh, Raghunath.

Half Backs: Viren Rasquinha, Vikram Pillay, Ignace Tirkey, V S Vinay, Prabodh Tirkey, Vivek Gupta, Girish Plmpale.

Forwards: Adam Sinclair, Arjun Halappa, Sandeep Michael, Tushar Khandekar, Hari Prasad, Birender Lakra Inderjeet Singh Chadha,

Officials: Gerhard Rach (Chief Coach), Jagbir Singh (coach), Sampath Kumar (trainer), Satish Kumar Sharma (manager).
