KHAIRPUR, Sept 22: Jagirani tribe's chief Mir Sunder Khan Sundrani and Solangi tribe's chief Wadero Ghulam Mustafa Solangi on Wednesday held separate meetings with Pir Pagaro in Pir Jo Goth to resolve the dispute between the tribes.

Mr Pagaro urged the chieftains to resolve the dispute as soon as possible. The tribal chiefs expressed their willingness to end the clash. Meanwhile, Nazeer Ahmad Solangi and Kamil Jagirani, who were killed on Tuesday in the dispute, were buried on Tuesday night under strict security.

Tension persisted in the area and people remained indoors. Traffic remained suspended on the Khairpur-Pir Jo Goth road and the Sukkur-Pir Jo Goth road. There are also reports that people are migrating from the area due to the clash.

CASES: The warring groups lodged two cases against each other on Wednesday. Nisar Ahmad Jagirani, son of deceased Kamil Jagirani, lodged an FIR at the Ahmadpur police station against 41 Solangi tribesmen, including Zulfiqar, Ahmad Ali, Hadi Bux, Rehmatullah, Asghar, Akhtar, Farooq, Imam Dino and Amanullah.

Mohammad Bux Solangi, brother of deceased Nazeer Solangi, lodged a case at the police station against 35 Jagiranis, Ali Murad, Kehar Khan, Abdul Khaliq, Dilsher, Jinsar, Aijaz, Gulsher, Mubin and Imtiaz.

A heavy contingent of police has been deployed in the area and police force from Sukkur and Naushahro Feroze districts has also been called to control the situation. Ten pickets have been set up in the area and police and Rangers' personnel are patrolling the area.
