FAISALABAD, Sept 22: A boy axed to death his sister on suspicion of illicit relations here on Wednesday in Kehkashan Colony. Reports said Iqbal attacked his sister 'S' with an axe when she was sitting in the house. The girl was shifted to a nearby hospital where she died. The accused managed his escape.

SUICIDE: A youth ended his life by taking poisonous pills over financial constraints here on Wednesday rising the toll to eight during the last fortnight. Muhammad Zeeshan of Mukhtar Colony committed suicide as he was jobless for the last many years. It may be noted here that seven people had committed suicide during the last fortnight due to monetary problems.

PML CONVENTION: All arrangements have been finalized for a workers convention of the ruling Pakistan Muslim League at the local Circuit House scheduled to be held on Friday (tomorrow).

Federal Law Minister Wasi Zafar, Federal Textile Industry Minister Mushtaq Ali Cheema, provincial ministers, the district Nazim and others will address the convention.

JUDICIAL REMAND: Four people, including two shopkeepers of a medical store, allegedly involved in selling illicit liquor and prohibited medicines, were sent to jail on 14-day judicial remand here on Wednesday.

Reports said the People's Colony police had raided a medical store in Abdullahpur and arrested its owners Zahid Latif and Abidi Latif, salesman Adeel Rizvi and a customer, Shahzad, along with illicit liquor and expired and prohibited medicines.
