FAISALABAD, Sept 22: Nine candidates were elected unopposed to different seats of the Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry, as their rivals withdrew their nomination papers here on Wednesday.

Those who have been elected unopposed for the Trade Class are Muhammad Ayub Sabir, Malik Masood, Shahzad Anwar and Niaz Ahmad. Mian Muhammad Hanif, Abdul Qayyum, Muhammad Saleem and Shaheen Tabassum have been elected unopposed for the Industry Class while Mohsin Saleem Raza had already been declared successful on Group Seat of the FCCI.

Now the elections for the president, senior vice-president and vice-president would be held on 29th of this month. FCCI insiders revealed that renowned local industrialist, Mian Muhammad Haneef, is favourite for the top slot of the local trade body.
