HYDERABAD, Sept 24: A resident of the Wali Mohammad Dahri village near Bandhi in Nawabshah district has threatened to commit self-immolation outside the Governor's House on Oct 10 if he was not provided protection against excesses of police and a feudal lord.

Speaking at a news conference at the press club on Thursday, Anwar Ali Dahri complained that since 1998, he was being subjected to inhuman excesses by the Bandhi police at the instance of a local Wadera, Maddu Gabol, who wanted to take over the possession of his 16 acres land.

He said he had been challaned in about half a dozen false cases but was acquitted by courts in all cases. He said his ordeal was not yet over because he was on bail in the last case which was registered against him on Aug 28.

He appealed to the Chief Justice of Supreme Court of Pakistan and all other federal and provincial authorities to order a judicial inquiry against feudal lords and local police and provide him justice. He said if he was denied justice, he would commit self- immolation outside the Sindh Governor's House on Oct 10.
