GUJRANWALA, Sept 28: Eleven policemen were booked on Tuesday on charge of killing 40 buffaloes of a landlord at the behest of his rivals in Mehtab Singh village, Alipur Chattha.

Smander Khan, brother of landlord Akhter and his servant Sarwar were killed by rivals over a land dispute a few months ago. The landlord was pursuing case. The policemen forced him to compromise, but he refused.

They reportedly mixed poison in water of his cattle as a result 40 buffaloes worth Rs1.8 million died. Those booked were CIA inspector Iftikhar Ahmad, SIs Rao Qurban and Munir, ASIs Waris Ali and Altaf Ahmad, constables Javed Ahmad, Ghulam Bari, Sarfraz Ahmad, Riaz Ahmad, Liaquat Ali and Bashir Ahmad.
