RAHIM YAR KHAN, Sept 30: Dozens of farmers on Thursday demonstrated in front of the DPO office against the injustices of a former federal minister of state. The protesters were holding banners on which their demands were inscribed.

A group consisting of 36 farmers from Bhong union council also handed over an application to the DPO against former minister of state Rais Munir Ahmad. The application alleged that armed men of the former minister were harassing the poor farmers and were trying to grab their land.

It further alleged that his armed men entered Jam Bhooral's house and thrashed him and also broke the legs of his two nephews which were still in hospital. DPO Tariq Hanif Joya assured the protesters that he himself would come to their town on Friday (today) to assess the situation. He also told them that more police stations would be established in the area.
