OKARA, Oct 4: Dozens of People's Students Federation activists took out a protest procession here on Monday against the police for not arresting nominated accused in the students abduction case registered about 10 days ago.

Reports said the PSF activists along with other students marched through various bazaars demanding arrest of the accused who had kidnapped two students about 10 days back.

During the rally, the college students tried to seek support of the Islamia High School students, but the teachers did not allow them. Over this, the PSF men started beating up the students as a result Muhammad Shakil, Muhammad Farid and Zeeshan sustained injures who were admitted to the DHQ hospital. Police are investigating into the matter.

PTCL UNION: Scores of PTCL employees on Monday announced two-hour protest from 10am to 12pm on a daily basis till the acceptance of their demands. Okara region PTCL employees union workers Shamshad Gujar, Malik Zulfiqar Awan, Rao Jamil and others while speaking at a meeting demanded award of new scales according to the 1996 charter of demands. They said 15 per cent increase in salaries announced by the government must be implemented besides resumption of the service quota of employees' children.
