KASUR, Oct 6: Seven dacoits shot dead a man and injured his two family members, while their two accomplices were also killed by the firing of a family member here on Wednesday at Bhonekey Morr village, Saddar Pattoki.

Police said the bandits entered the house of Mohammad Siddique and held the family hostage. They beat him up and opened fire on him on resistance as a result he sustained injuries.

Meanwhile, Siddique's son Mohammad Sharif and grandson Ghulam Mustafa overpowered two gangsters. On this the robbers resorted to indiscriminate firing, killing Sharif on the spot, while Ghulam Mustafa sustained injuries.

During the course of firing, injured Mohammad Siddique snatched a rifle from one of the dacoits and shot at them killing two gangsters on the spot. The others fled from the scene leaving behind two rifles.

Saddar Pattoki police sent the dead bodies of dacoits to the THQ hospital for autopsy who had not been identified till the filing of this report. When contacted, Kasur DPO Khadim Hussian Bhatti said a team had been constituted under the supervision of SP (Investigation) Riaz Gara to arrest the outlaws.

BIKE TAKEN AWAY: Three robbers took away a motorcycle from a person here on Wednesday at Khankay Morr, Phoolnagar. Reports said Niamat Ali was going to Khankay Morr on his bike (LRK-2820) when the bandits intercepted him and drove away with the vehicle.

VISIT: Provincial Social Welfare and Women Development Minister Ashifa Fatiana will visit Kasur on Oct 7. The minister will inspect the district industrial home and the SOS institution besides meeting with the District Nazim and DCO.
