HAFIZABAD, Oct 6: Two alleged robbers were arrested after an hour-long encounter in Muradian village on Wednesday in which a police constable sustained injuries.

Police claimed that the robbers forced their entry into a house, overpowered a woman and fled away with valuables.

Police were informed soon after the incident which chased the robbers. The outlaws opened fire on the police party. Police returned the compliment and after an encounter arrested both of them. They were identified as Jamshed and Yousaf. The injured was admitted to the Hafizabad DHQ hospital where his condition was stated to be stable.

BOYS HURT: Two boys suffered bullet injuries when participants in a marriage party resorted to firing in the air in jubilation.

Reports said some friends of the groom opened fire when the marriage party was coming back as a result of which Ghazanfar, 12, and Sajid, 8, suffered injuries. They were rushed to the DHQ hospital in critical condition.
