Annan slams Multan attack

UNITED NATIONS, Oct 7: UN Secretary General Kofi Annan on Thursday strongly condemned the bomb attack in Multan in which 39 people were killed and 100 injured.

In a statement issued here on Thursday, a UN spokesman said: "Yet again, the Secretary General reiterates that all terrorist acts are utterly unacceptable, and expresses his serious concern about the dangers of sectarian violence."He urges the authorities to take effective action against such acts," the statement concluded.
