HYDERABAD, Oct 8: The directorate of agriculture information of Sindh government has announced that the provincial government has fixed the minimum price of sugarcane at Rs43 per 40kg for the crushing season of 2004-5.

The directorate said that a notification in this regard had already been issued by the agriculture department in exercise of powers vested in it under the Sindh Sugarcane Factories Control Act 1950.

SAU: The controller of examination of the Sindh Agriculture University has announced that supplementary examinations of BSC, BE, DVM, MSc and ME, first and second terms of 2002-3, will be held on October 22.

The controller has advised the students of the first term of BSc, BE and DVM to deposit their examination forms with a fee of Rs350 and the students of MSc and ME with a fee of Rs500.

He, however, made it clear that the normal fees would be charged if the MSC and ME forms are deposited between October 11 and 18 and BSC, BE and DVM forms between 19 and 21. The controller said that the supplementary examination of BSc, BE and DVM would be held in the evening shift.

MUET: The Mehran University of Engineering and Technology has announced interview dates for eligible candidates for admission to first year in 2004-5 session.

October 11 has been fixed as the last date for the candidates from Hyderabad and Thatta districts, 12 for those from Dadu, Mirpurkhas and Badin districts; 13 for those from Tharparkar, Sanghar, Sukkur, Ghotki and Shikarpur districts; 14 for those from Khairpur, Nawabshah, Naushahro Feroze and Larkana district and 15 for the candidates from Jacobabad and Karachi, diploma holders, the university employees and others.

The candidates have been advised to bring with them the original documents. The university registrar has cautioned the candidates that those who fail to turn up for interview on the given dates will not be considered for admissions. He said that a merit list of eligible candidates would be displayed on the university notice board.
