SUKKUR, Oct 10: Repair work of the Sukkur Barrage has been started as a 14-foot-deep ditch has developed near the Dadu Canal upstream. The MEW Company is carrying out the repair work.

The company has started silt and stone clearing at the site. Meanwhile, Sukkur Barrage chief engineer Syed Noor Mohammad Shah and executive engineer Aftab Abro visited the barrage and inspected the repair work.

CONSTABLE INUURED: A group of armed bandits attacked the Rustam Chowk police check-post in the Shikarpur district on Sunday, injuring police constable Abdul Sattar Lashari and depriving him of his official rifle. Police have registered a case against eight persons.
