ABBOTTABAD, Oct 13: Maj-Gen Hamid Rab Nawaz, Commandant Pakistan Military Academy Kakul, has said that education contributes towards the socio-economic uplift of a nation.

He was speaking as chief guest at the annual parents day of the Army Burn Hall College here on Wednesday.

Gen Nawaz who is also deputy chairman of the Board of Governors of the Army Burn Hall Institutions said that to meet the growing challenge of modern world, it is the need of the hour to provide quality education to the youth.

He said that efforts should be made to make students useful citizens who could face the challenges of the complex world effectively and boldly. Gen Nawaz said he was very much impressed with the performance of the students of the Burn Hall in different fields.

Later, he distributed shields and certificates among students. The Chief of Army Staff Gold Medals were awarded to Haseeb Ahmed, Sardar Jawad Gul and Musharraf Hussain.
