SKARDU, Nov 9: A woman and her four daughters died of suffocation due to leakage of gas in their house in Alamdar Chowk here on Tuesday, police said.

The victims, Khadeeja, 30, and her daughters, Tayyaba, 12, Sana, 8, Momo, 10, and Bushra, 3, were asleep when a leaking LPG cylinder filled their room with gas which suffocated them to death.

A relative of the family, Hassan, 14, however, escaped death but was reported to be in a serious condition at the DHQ hospital.

Abdur Rehman, the head of the family, was in Karachi at the time of the incident, police said.
