ISLAMABAD, Nov 13: PPP Chairperson Benazir Bhutto and PML-N leaders Nawaz Sharif and Shahbaz Sharif have greeted the people of Pakistan and Muslims throughout the world on Eidul Fitr, asking them to share the joys of the occasion with their underprivileged brethren.

The PPP chairperson, in her message, said: "On the auspicious occasion of Eidul Fitr, I extend greetings to the all Muslims throughout the world, particularly to my Pakistani brothers and sisters on behalf of the Pakistan People's Party and myself."

She said: "Let us bow our heads in gratitude to Allah Almighty for blessing us with the bounties of the holy month of Ramzan. May Allah in His infinite mercy grant our supplications and guide us to imbibe the spirit of Ramzan throughout the year."

She asked the countrymen to also spare a thought on this occasion for the less fortunate ones who, squeezed by poverty and deprivation, were condemned to a life of misery and sufferings.

A Reporter Adds: Mian Nawaz Sharif and Mian Shahbaz Sharif of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, in their joint Eid message, stressed the need for restoration of the 1973 Constitution and making the country an Islamic, welfare and democratic state.

Party Chairman Raja Zafarul, Acting President Javed Hashmi, Secretary-General Saranjam Khan and Central Information Secretary Mohammad Siddiqul Farooque also extended Eid greetings to the masses.

"The tyrannical and oppressive forces of the world are engaged in massacre of Muslims all over the world and the Ummah is facing worst state of terror and violence in Kashmir, Chechniya, Afghanistan, Iraq and Palestine. The disheartening aspect is that some leaders of Muslim countries are acting as tool in the hands of these anti-Muslim forces," the PML-N leaders said.

Amidst these conditions, they said, it was all the more important not only to offer prayers for the Muslims in distress but also extend material and moral support to them.

Saudi envoy: Relationship between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia extends to over five decades and it is gaining strength with each passing day. This was stated by Saudi Arabia Ambassador Ali S. Awadh Asseri in his message on the occasion of Eidul Fitr.

The Saudi ambassador said in keeping with the spirit of Eidul Fitr, the leadership and the people of Saudi Arabia extended warm Eid greetings to the leadership and people of Pakistan.

"We pray to Allah Almighty for His blessings and mercy to be always with Pakistan, and for our relationship to keep growing with the passage of time for the progress and prosperity of the people of the two countries as well as the welfare of entire Muslim Ummah," he added.
