LARKANA: SHO and ASI suspended

LARKANA, Nov 17: Protesting against the SHO of the Waleed police station the residents of Shaikh Zayed Colony and union council-2 blocked the Larkana Ratodero road near Gharwah.

Shahid Lashari and Ghulam Mustafa Chandio, councillors of union council-2, and Athar Soomro, a leader of Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz, led the protest. They burnt old tyres and interrupted the Punjab-bound vehicular traffic, chanting slogans against the illegal arrest of six persons and beating them while they were taking tea at a rod side hotel.

Those picked up by police on Monday night included Asif Ali Naich, Siraj Kalhoro, Muneer Chandio, Aftab Buriro, Ashique and Imran. The protesters cleared the road after police officers talked to them.

The district police officer of Larkana, Muzaffar Shaikh, suspended SHO Shakil Ismail Chandio, ASI Azam Siyal and the driver of the police mobile, Ahmed Hussain Chandio, of the Waleed police station. The driver was later sent behind the bars.

The DPO immediately posted sub-inspector Imtiaz Shaikh as new SHO of the Waleed police station. The district police officer also ordered an inquiry into the incident.
