HYDERABAD, Nov 26: District Nazim Dr Makhdoom Rafiquzzaman has appealed to people and NGOs to come forward and help the district government in improving health and sanitation facilities.

He was speaking at the inaugural ceremony of a two-week cleanliness campaign in the City union council-1and Latifabad UC-3 here on Thursday. The nazim said that the Sindh governor took keen interest in keeping the cities and towns neat and clean with provision of water supply, sewerage and communication facilities.

He said that the district government and taluka municipal administrations had prepared plans being executed from November 25 to December 10 with their resources and hoped that the people would find visible change in city conditions.

He directed the Hyderabad Development Authority and other agencies concerned to immediately clear Wadhu Wah and open drains of Latifabad-12 and Tulsidas Road of silt within three days to ensure smooth disposal of sewerage.

He also asked the nazims and councillors of the union councils to convince the people not to dispose of their waste on roads but use municipal dumps and waste disposal sites which would make the campaign more successful.
