DERA ISMAIL KHAN, Dec 13: The provincial deputy general secretary of the Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam, Maulana Attaur Rehman, MNA, has said that a record number of development schemes have been carried out in D. I. Khan during the last two years.

Maulana Rehman ruled out the possibility of shifting any government department from D.I. Khan to any other district and termed it a propaganda campaign against the MMA leadership.
He alleged that vested elements were using lawyers and politicians to achieve their goal of creating hurdles in the MMA's campaign against president's uniform.
Maulana Rehman said that during the past two years the MMA had carried out record development works in the district worth over Rs3 billion in different sectors, including power, education, health, irrigation, public health to improve the socio-economic conditions of the masses.
Meanwhile, local politicians, traders, lawyers and area people have demanded a probe into funds utilized in different development schemes and appointments in different government departments in D. I.
