Published December 21, 2004

HYDERABAD, Dec 20: Three bogies of a Punjab-bound goods train derailed near Palejani, 30 kilometres from here, on Monday causing suspension of rail traffic on the up-country track.

According to SHO of Railway police Dilawar Memon, when the train, coming from Karachi, reached Palejani railway station, three of its bogies turned turtle and wheat bags fell on the ground.

Railway authorities were informed about the incident. A railway official said that both the tracks had been cleared and drivers of trains heading towards up-country were asked to keep the speed very slow.

Initially some passenger trains were halted at Hyderabad railway station, causing inconvenience to commuters. Later, only one track was opened for rail traffic.
