HYDERABAD, Dec 21: Senior member of the Sindh Board of Revenue, Mirza Karim Baig, has directed revenue officials to achieve their recovery target within the stipulated period and take legal action against defaulters.

He was speaking at a meeting of revenue officials of the Sanghar district here on Tuesday. Mr Baig asked the officials to computerize the names of big defaulters so that they could be dealt with according to law.

He directed deputy district officers (revenue) to submit weekly consolidated reports of their performances and identify incompetent tapedars so that action could be taken against them. He said the past year's arrears should be recovered and people be facilitated subject to clearance of their dues.

The senior member directed officials to consider all expenditure of agriculture input while assessing the agriculture income tax of growers and ensure that recovery was justified. He said workshops and seminars at the local level be arranged to educate growers about justified recovery of the agriculture income tax.

Mr Baig assured that honest and hard working officials would be rewarded while no one would be spared on account of his negligence. Sanghar EDO revenue Nazir Jamali briefed the senior member about the recovery position of the district.

DCO: DCO Mohammad Hussain Syed has constituted four-member committees headed by the DDO human resource management for each taluka of the district to ensure proper and transparent transactions at petrol pumps and CNG filling stations.

The committees will comprise of DDO (HRM) headquarter (convenor), DDO revenue, DDO buildings and Mukhtiarkar concerned as members. The committees will pay periodical visits to petrol pumps and CNG filling stations to check that terms and conditions of the NOC issued to them were being complied with.
