GUJRANWALA, Dec 30: Over 100 workers of various commercial units and furnaces were held on the charge of vagrancy here on Thursday. The Peoples Colony police have sent all of them to jail.

Some of the arrested workers were viewing an Indian movie on the television outside a shop while others were on their way home after watching a stage drama late at night.

Meanwhile, the labour organization protested against the People's Colony police and demanded that action against them after an inquiry as the arrested were factory workers and not the criminals. When contacted, the police said that the accused gathered a place for dacoity purpose while some of them were roaming in streets suspiciously.
