RAHIM YAR KHAN, Jan 3: Chaudhry Muhammad Munir, Sheikh Zayed Medical College and Hospital's Board of Management chairman, inaugurated a three-day workshop on "Basic/advanced cardiac life support" organized by "Life Saver Foundation" here on Monday.

Also included in the programme was a lecture by neuro surgery professor in the US, Dr Saeed Ahmed Bajwa. He has especially come from America to attend the ceremony. Dr Bajwa also gave state-of-the-art presentation on "Total Spinal Arthroplasty (Total Lumbar Disc Replacement)". While Dr Habibur Rehman gave the introductory lecture regarding "Basic/advanced cardiac life support".

Dr Eice Muhammad, the SZMC principal, highlighted the facilities being provided to the patients and the importance and benefits of establishing a medical college in Rahim Yar Khan.

He informed the gathering that the hospital was providing entirely free treatment to emergency ward patients while about 95 per cent medicines were being provided to in indoor and outdoor patients. He said that MBBS classes were starting in Rahim Yar Khan within a few days.

Dr Eice praised Prof Dr Saeed Ahmed Bajwa and announced that the worthy professor would be the chairman of SZMC's Research and Curriculum Development Committee besides an honorary faculty member of the medical college.

Dr Bajwa would coordinate in developing a system for SZMC graduates for affiliation of the medical college with Medical School of USA, he added.
