HYDERABAD, Jan 6: Rich tribute was paid to the late Noor Mohammad, founder of the Noor Mohammad High School, for his glorious services in the field of education, politics and social work by scholars and educationists at a function organized here on Thursday.

Speaking as chief guest at the function, "Rooh Rihan", provincial secretary (education and literacy) Mohammad Hashim Leghari, praised the contributions made by to the late philanthropist, and said that Noor Mohammad's yeomen services for the Muslims of the sub-continent wolud be always remembered.

He appealed to the people of Sindh to follow the example set by Noor Mohammad for promotion of education in Sindh. Since literacy rate in Sindh was 45 per cent, with 32 per cent in rural areas, and only 11 per cent among rural women, the government had decided to start compulsory education in Sindh, the provincial secretary (education) said.
