RAWALPINDI, Jan 12: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested five people including an assistant traffic officer of Saudi Arabian Airlines on charges of helping a man in travelling to London on fake documents , sources told Dawn on Wednesday.

The latest scam of human trafficking involving the immigration and airlines officials came to light when Ehsan Tahir arrived at Islamabad airport after being deported from Dubai.

Ehsan Tahir, a resident of Kharian, was sent to London via Dubai on a photo-changed passport on January 7, 2005. But he was offloaded at Dubai airport and deported to Pakistan two days later after his passport was found fake.

The investigating officer of the passport cell, SI Afzal Niazi, told Dawn that Ehsan Tahir (the deportee) had paid Rs250,000 to a travel agent, Soleman, for arranging his documents.

He said shortly after the deportee came back, the immigration official, Abdul Qudoos, posted at Islamabad airport and the Saudi Arabian Airlines officer, Aulad Hussain, were taken into custody.
