ISLAMABAD, Jan 19: Air Chief Marshal Kaleem Saadat, Chief of the Air Staff Pakistan Air Force, visited PAF Base Faisal for the annual inspection visit on Wednesday.

On arrival at the Base, Air Chief was received by Base Commander Air Commodore Tahir Ehsan, says a press release.

He reviewed the parade of Base personnel and visited the operational and maintenance units of the base. Addressing the personnel he said," All of you should feel justifiably proud that during the year 2004, PAF achieved its target of maximum flying with lowest ever aircraft accidents in a year.

The achievement was made possible due to Allah's blessings and sincere teamwork of entire line up of officers, airmen and civilians of Pakistan Air Force. ". "In order to keep performing in a similar fashion, every one of you will be required to work with the same zeal and dedication that you showed last year. You must keep striving hard to do even better in the days ahead", he remarked.

Air Chief Marshal Kaleem Saadat said, " With our emphasis on better training and with Allah's help, I believe this goal is also achievable. All we need is a sincere commitment and dedicated efforts to do the job that we have been assigned to do. If our actions are right, the outcome will always be right."

He further added that fully alive to our operational needs, we have been continuing our efforts to enhance our capabilities through new inductions, upgrades and quality training.

" We added F-7 PGs, additional Mirages, CASAs CN-235 aircraft and MI-171 helicopters to our inventory. We are seriously pursuing to meet our needs for hi-tech fighter aircraft, including F-16s. The JF-17 Thunder aircraft will arrive in Pakistan next year.

We are also trying to make our Air Defence network a strong and reliable tool for the defence of our country, and are in the process of acquiring High, Medium and Low level radars to enhance our coverage", he remarked. -APP
