SARGODHA, Jan 19: PML-N vice-president Syed Mansoor Ali Shah along with his gunman Taqi Shah was shot dead by his own guards on Wednesday in Mohabta Syedan village, some 45kms from here.
Complainant Syed Sardar Ali Shah of Mohabta Syedan said that Syed Mansoor Ali Shah was living with him after differences with his family. He had also changed his guards and engaged Ubaidullah Khan, Liaquat Khan, Hanif Khan, Humayun Khan and Mehrab Khan of Laki Marwat about five months ago.
A police officer requesting anonymity said that the father of the deceased had banned his entry in Jehanian Shah some three months ago due to his behaviour. The deceased did his masters in Islamiat, Arabic and Persian and also obtained law degree.
The police said that some scuffle took place between his personal guard Taqi Shah and pathan guards. They overpowered Taqi and shot him dead. After hearing the gunshots, Mansoor Ali Shah rushed to the spot and tried to shoot the guards, but his gun failed to release the bullets.
This provided enough opportunity to the guards to shoot Mansoor Ali Shah as well. A large number of people from all walks of life, including PML-N leaders, attended his funeral prayers in Jehanian Shah.
DPO Muhammad Naeem Khan rushed to the spot and controlled the situation as some people were trying to give it a colour of sectarian killing. Also a former ticket holder of PML-N from NA 68, Sargodha, the deceased was the son of West Pakistan DIG Syed Inayat Ali Shah.
